Rejected petition Reopen the Moorgate via Finchley Central to Edgeware Railway as part of TFL.

The proposal would be for the Department of Transport, Transport for London and respective London borough councils to agree a proposal that would see the former railway line from Moorgate (London City Line) to Edgeware via Finchley Central reopen to passenger trains.

More details

Reopen the railway as an environmentally sustainable/sociably/economical supporting mode of public transport.

Reduce the use on TFL buses/congestion/pollution on London’s roads.

Decrease the passengers time to travel between zone 1 - 5/carry large volumes of passengers.

Link up large pockets of communities with existing railways in London.

Allows for disabled passengers to ride in greater safety.

The proposed line would increase jobs/skilled workers needed to support the local economy.
