We’re waiting for a new Petitions Committee

Petitions had to stop because of the recent general election. Once a new Petitions Committee is set up by the House of Commons, petitions will start again.

Closed petition Require gambling industry to implement a self-exclusion system for FOBTs

The Government should require gambling venues to implement a robust self-exclusion system for their customers wanting to use Fixed-Odds-Betting-Terminals (FOBTs/slot machines).

More details

Gambling venues staff MUST be 100% certain that the customer hasn’t self-excluded through this system BEFORE allowing them access to the terminals.
Venues’ gambling license must be conditional on their ability to ensure that not one self-excluded gambler manages to use a Fixed-Odds-Betting-Terminal without having first been screened. If they fail to do so, they should lose their license until they can prove they have put relevant safety measures into place, to ensure no self-excluded gamblers can slip through the safety net again.
