We’re waiting for a new Petitions Committee
Petitions had to stop because of the recent general election. Once a new Petitions Committee is set up by the House of Commons, petitions will start again.

Rejected petition Legal requirement for all child photographers to have a DBS check
Make it a legal requirement for all photographers to have a DBS check if they are offering a service which photographs children.
More details
Currently in the Uk a taxi driver is eligible for an enhanced DBS check but a photographer who works more intimately with children is not. “Children may become vulnerable to grooming if a photograph is shared alongside information that makes them identifiable. This includes: personal details; a tag with location information; visual details such as a school uniform” (NSPCC, 2021). Parents should be able to access information that will reassure them, the photographer of their choice is DBS certified.
