Rejected petition Introduce night bus services in Plymouth to keep people safe

For Plymouth local government to introduce night bus services to support the safe travel for residents of the city.
Plymouth is already very far behind the times with its public transport services during the day but they are nonexistent at night.

More details

As we know the headlines have been bombarded with incidences of violence against women and members of the LGBTQ+ community more than ever in recent years. These incidences have occurred often at night and even with all the ‘precautions’ we are told to take as women, these events are still happening and close to home for many now.

Covid and brexit have seen huge shortages in taxi drivers and this increases the risk to people travelling at night especially women.

Decisions about local bus services are a matter for local bus operators and the local authority, not the Government or Parliament. As a result it is not possible for the Government or Parliament to take the action you have requested.
