Petitions had to stop because of the recent general election. Once a new Petitions Committee is set up by the House of Commons, petitions will start again.

Closed petition To prevent the spread of avian flu, prohibit the shooting of game birds

Zoonotic infections can spread and mutate when humans consume wild caught animals.

More details

I would ask that shooting of wild birds is banned immediately, and not resumed until better bio security measures are brought in.

The shooting of game birds must be stopped.

It is ridiculous that Organised shoots can go into wild bird populations without any bio security measures and shoot down game birds, transporting them home for consumption. We have learned that Zoonotic infections can spread and mutate when humans consume wild caught animals.

I ask that shooting of wild birds is immediately banned until proper statutory bio security measures that protect us from the risk of Avian flu can be put in place.
