Closed petition Introduce new safeguards and requirements for production and sale of cat food

We want a new regime for cat foods, so that all cat foods are pre-approved by Defra before going into production and being put on sale. If there is a single proven case of a cat falling ill due to consuming a certain cat food that product, and others produced in the same factory, should be recalled.

Implementing stricter approval and recall provisions for cat food could prevent cats becoming ill or dying. These provisions should be put into effect by the end of 2022.
