We’re waiting for a new Petitions Committee

Petitions had to stop because of the recent general election. Once a new Petitions Committee is set up by the House of Commons, petitions will start again.

Closed petition Do not make residing on land without consent in or with a vehicle an offence

Provisions in the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill would make residing on public or private land without consent in or with a vehicle a criminal offence punishable by removal of vehicles. We believe this puts the already vulnerable travelling communities at risk.

More details

We believe Travellers who need to travel to find work could be unfairly targeted by these provisions. The confiscation of vehicles could make many members of the Travelling community homeless as they live in their vehicles.
