Rejected petition Hold a referendum on the privatisation/sale of the NHS.

The conservatives are selling our NHS without consulting us, no mention in their manifesto, and direct denials on live TV and in the press. The people deserve the right to vote on it

More details

We want the government to stop selling the NHS, and to remove ALL private envolvement in the NHS, to fund it properly with the taxes we pay instead of handing our money to individuals and corporations who have no expertise in healthcare and without due process. It wasnt in the conservative manifesto that they intended to sell the NHS no one voted for it, we think the people deserve a vote to decide its fate

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you want there to be a referendum about the NHS, but we're not sure exactly what you want people to be asked to choose between - full public ownership with no private sector involvement, full privatisation, the status quo, the changes proposed in the Health and Care Bill, or something else.

The Health and Care Bill would not involve the sale of the NHS, but would change competition rules relating to the NHS. You can read more about the Health and Care Bill here: https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefings/cbp-9232/

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
