Make a change in law so that individuals who have been found guilty of driving whilst unfit through alcohol or drugs receive a mandatory, automatic lifelong driving ban. This could help reduce the number of offences of this type, and reduce pressures on the police and health services.
We believe the punishments for this offence are too lenient. Individuals who have been dangerous and selfish enough to drive whilst unfit should never drive again. This should stop repeat offenders and make our roads safer.
