Many people are drawing benefits simply because they could not get as much money by working. Hence the huge number of lead swingers on incapacity benefit, and people content on jobseekers allowance. The minimum wage should be increased so as to offer workers a better standard of living than someone drawing incapacity and housing benefits. Employers would claim some reimbursement out of the savings from working tax credits and incapacity benefits.
