The Government should abolish the current honours system, which we believe is not fit for purpose, and replace it with a system that does not involve the monarchy, or language relating to the British empire.

We believe that the current associations of the honour system with the monarcy and British empire are inappropriate, and that the current system should be abolished, and replaced with a new system independent of these.
