Closed Introduce new requirements for breeders and sellers of cats and dogs

The Government should introduce the following requirements:

- Every cat and dog microchipped before sale
- Mandatory registration for all breeders
- All sales to be registered by deed
- New owners required to register their ownership

There has been a massive increase in stolen/lost pets and we believe there is too little regulation of animal sales, especially online.

The Government should put measures in place to regulate all breeders, and ensure all sales and owners are registered. Breeders and owners should be required to pay fees to fund the costs of these new requirements.
