Rejected petition All in Parliament subject to the same drink and drug limits as for car driving.

Introduce limits on drug and alcohol consumption for all Members of the House of Commons and Lords, their staff and all staff working in or visiting Parliament or Government offices, at least as strict as driving limits.

Recent news demonstrates a culture of alcohol consumption in Government that leads to impaired decision making. At a time of critical national importance this culture prevailed and override the Coronavirus legislation and Guidance.

Responsibility for Governing the Country and enacting & applying legislation requires full concentration and clear minds. Given that alcohol and drugs are seen to impair performance for driving, a similar standard would be appropriate for all engaged in Government.
