Closed Make the discarding of syringes in a public place a specific criminal offence

The Government should create a specific criminal offence of discarding syringes in a public place, with penalties up to and including custodial sentences.

Too many towns are littered with used syringes, that pose a risk to the public and especially children.

Making discarding these syringes a specific offence would empower the police to tackle this problem, and ensure that perpetrators faced real penalties.
