Closed petition Make it illegal for companies to have different dress codes for men and women
Closed on
It's still legal in the UK for a company to have different dress codes for men and women. This means, for example, employers can forbid male employers to wear high heels. This is out-dated and sexist. Legislation should be changed so employers cannot have different dress codes for men and women.
I want the Government to prevent employers from having different dress codes for men and women because I am a man who likes/prefers to wear women's shoes and I have been told by an employer that I must wear men's shoes.
Employers should not be able to require employees to dress or not dress in clothes or shoes associated with a particular gender.
