Rejected petition Reduce the cost of Animal Health Certificates

Investigate the following and overly expensive system for transporting domestic pet's to and from Europe. When in the EU, we paid £40 approx. for a three year pet passport. Now, with Brexit, it will cost over £200 and more for a four month AHC.
Thankyou.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

The Government is not responsible for setting the prices that veterinary practices charge for their services. The Government could fix the price of providing certain services, but it would then be up to veterinary practices whether they chose to offer these services.

We could accept a petition calling on the Government to set up a national system to provide animal health certificates at a fixed cost, if that is what you want to happen.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
