Closed petition Immediately offer to host a Ukrainian government in exile

Whilst it seems inevitable that Ukraine will lose the current conventional war the conditions must be created in which it can continue to resist Russian aggression thereafter. To do this a government in exile must be established in a friendly location. The UK should be that friendly location.

Permitting Russia in fact to prevail in Ukraine is unthinkable. There is no reason to believe that Ukraine is Putin’s only objective and (absent a coup d’état) it is likely to be years before any return to normal relations can be achieved. The UK stands for nothing if we fail to stand up for liberal democratic values. Providing a safe location from which a Ukrainian resistance can be organised is the least that we can do and must be offered immediately.
