Rejected petition To increase the financial help received by student Physician Associate.

Money out: Yearly PA fees: £10, 800 (x2), Nationals fees: £790, Travel for placement, Rent & bills, Food, Clothes, Other (phone bills, textbooks, laundry, electronics). Money in: HHE bursary: £5,000, Postgraduate loan £11,222, + any additional income.

More details

16,000 + 12,000 + 21,600 +790= £50,390 (assuming the Average cost of living is ~£8,000 PA and rent is £500 per month). Add this to ~1,640 unpaid placement hours it is fair to say £16,222 will not cover or help much of these gruelling two years and owes to those who have financial support. To find £34,168 alongside studying and working unpaid is near enough impossible unless financially supported in other ways. Please could a discussion be had, even if not to make our work more respected?
