Create a new employment right for all employees to be entitled to be reimbursed for the costs of any essential travel (including fuel costs) connected with their employment, so this doesn’t impact their overall earnings.

With the ongoing increase of fuel prices many employees who use their own vehicle to travel from clients to clients – such as carers, cleaners and some nurses – risk earning far less than the minimum wage once the fuel is paid. It is going to be worse day after day and these employees will simply leave their job. The care sector and other sectors will be hit by a new loss of staff and vulnerable people will pay the price again.
