Require commercial vessels that operate in or visit UK waters for more than 182 days per year to be registered in the UK and adopt UK employment law for all crew however employed. This should apply to cargo and passenger vessels in the interests of protecting the rights and wellbeing of staff.

P&O maintain that their operating model is widely used around the world allowing services provided in the UK to operate based on where best suits the owners, allowing them to shop for the best deal. Requiring companies to be UK based would stop offshoring and level the playing field so it's not a race to the bottom.
