Closed petition Ban unsolicited mail where a “no junk mail” sign is displayed
Closed on
We would like the Government to make it illegal to, and impose fines for, posting unsolicited mail through letterboxes that display a “no junk mail” sign. This ban should include all forms of advertising such as leaflets, flyers, magazines, free papers and take away menus.
It would be more cost effective and better for the environment to only deliver to people who wish to receive advertising.
Some have made requests to the individual companies to stop posting their marketing material, but the companies do not always comply with the request and continue to post their material. No means No, and all companies should respect a persons’ wishes if they have a sign on their letterbox saying ‘no junk mail’.
