We’re waiting for a new Petitions Committee

Petitions had to stop because of the recent general election. Once a new Petitions Committee is set up by the House of Commons, petitions will start again.

Closed petition Make it mandatory for restaurants to donate left-overs to local food banks.

We would like Parliament to pass legislation that forces restaurants to donate their left-over food to local food banks.

More details

We would like to make sure that, with the increasing amount of homeless people and the shortage of volunteers, food wastage coming from restaurants is reduced and left-overs are destined to local food banks instead. If Parliament made it mandatory for restaurants to do so, food banks would not have to rely so much on volunteers and food donations.
