Closed Make all convicted criminals serve their full sentence

The Government should remove provisions for early release of prisoners, so that anyone given a custodial sentence serves this in full.

We believe it makes a mockery of the judicial system if a criminal is sentenced and (for example) only serves half their sentence.

If a criminal is sentenced, then the whole sentence should be served. Serving full sentences could act as a better deterrent to others who think they will not have to serve a full sentence, and so help deter them from crime, knowing that they would have to serve the whole time handed down by HM Courts.
