Rejected petition Petrol stations must not display the price of fuel if it is unavailable.

Make it a requirement for petrol stations to switch off illuminated signs advertising the price of fuel if it is not available at that location. If a sign cannot be switched off, then the price should be changed to "0000" or "_ _ _ _" for the grade of fuel that is unavailable.

More details

In light of recent fuel supply issues, and the ensuing panic buying that occurs, it would be helpful if petrol stations did not falsely indicate that they are selling fuel, or particular grades of fuel, at their location.

Removal of the price from forecourt signage will give an "at a glance" indication for drivers about the availability of fuel, and save time and reduce frustration when visiting a petrol station that has no suitable fuel.
