The Government should reduce the fees for applying for and renewing firearms licences, require that all police forces allow online applicants for licences/renewals, and set target timeframes within which applications should be considered.

We believe the way firearm licences/renewals are handled by some authorities has deterred people from applying and renewing their licenses. This can harm local businesses (clay pigeon shooting and gun stores), and the wellbeing of people who end up not getting a firearm licence. We also believe the cost of applying for or renewing a licence is too high, and should be reduced.
