Rejected petition Stop the HRT shortages, take women's health seriously.
The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has overall responsibility for ensuring the
continuity of the supply of medicines in the UK, so why are we continuing to see shortages in the supply of Oestrogen? It is effecting the mental and physical health of so many women.

Women's health needs to be taken seriously. Oestrogen is so important for both mental and physical health and it is not just for those in the menopause. The inconsistency in its supply is putting peoples quality of lives in jeporday. Please action a plan to ensure this vital medication does not keep running out. In 2022 it is not acceptable. You would never run out of Statins or viagra so why should we tolerate running out of a medicine that is vital for so many women?

The Government has said that it is aware of the supply issues that are affecting a limited number of HRT products, and are working closely with suppliers and stakeholders to resolve the issues as quickly as possible and to ensure that the NHS is informed on a regular basis.
The Government has said that most HRT products, including alternatives to those for which there supply issues, are available.
