Closed Require age-verification for hook-up apps and websites

The Government should ensure that those under the age of 18 have sufficient barriers put in place to ensure they cannot access apps or sites that advertise as places to find sex with strangers.

This would help to ensure that the principle behind laws relating to age of consent and access to pornographic material is extended to the case of hook-up apps and sites.

Doing so would place the legal responsibility on safeguarding children from sexual material onto app developers and app-stores.

I don’t think under 18’s are safe on apps where they can meet strangers for sex with insufficient safeguards in place.
