Closed Work internationally to create fully digital animal export/import certification

The Government should work with other countries, particularly the EU, to create an entirely digital animal export/import certification system. Since Brexit, movement of animals in and out of the UK has become a long, expensive, prone to error process, confusing and unnecessarily expensive.

Certain documents which need to be exported with the animal require from 9 to 27 pages, and hence it’s not environment friendly either. This could all be avoided using an online certification system.

Establish an online certification system that permanently removes the need for physical paper documents to travel with the animal.

This could make exporters, vets, owners and govt workload slimmer and less prone to errors in the documentation.
