Closed Establish a Royal Commission on Tidal Energy and Coastal Defence

This petition calls for HM Government to establish a Royal Commission to look at integrating coastal defence and tidal power with a Severn Barrage and a network of tidal lagoons; through public-private partnerships. This would also help to level up Wales and the North.

Tidal power is a simple technology that can be integrated to hydrogen production at slack urban demand, without the risks of nuclear power, and unknown costs regarding clear up and decommissioning.

Tidal power could balance wind generation, with centuries of predictable industrial quantities of power at urban/industrial centres, while modern turbines generate almost continuously.
