Closed petition Ban children from all greyhound tracks
Closed on
The Government should ban children from attending greyhound racing tracks. At these tracks there is a risk of children’s involvement in placing bets with their parents.
Around 55,000 problem gamblers are aged 11 to 16 in the UK, according to the Gambling Commission, with a further 85,000 estimated to be at risk. Children are susceptible to both family and peer influences and marketing campaigns. Children’s charity BigDeal say that if children accompany peers and parents who are gambling, the chances are higher that the child will develop a gambling problem themselves. If we remove children from these situations we help to safeguard them from future addiction and harm.
