Rejected petition Remove VAT from essential goods such as toothpaste, toilet paper and others

There is currently VAT on toothpaste, toilet paper, and female hygiene products. These are essential items that are required by everyone, or in the case of female hygiene products, most women to stay healthy, and should therefore have either 0% tax rate or be exempt from VAT.

More details

Sanitary items are an necessity rather than a luxury item which is the general qualification for VAT exemption or 0% rate. With the rising cost of living, these essential items can add up to a lot over the year. Please remove VAT on all essential items.
