Make teaching students about gender identity compulsory by the age of 10 (Year 6). This could become part of relationships education or as a separate lesson, to teach kids to understand and accept the gender identities of others.

Making sure kids learn early on about different gender identities should increases the chance they will be more accepting of other identities in future. This could even help lower the rate of hate crime against non-binary or trans people in the UK.
