Introduce a full or partial tax relief for expenses incurred commuting to and from a place of work, whether that be by car or public transport.
This would be much more effective than the 5p per litre fuel duty cut as the saving is passed on directly to the consumer.

With the cost of living increasing daily a tax relief on expenses incurred commuting to and from a place of work would provide additional take home pay to help combat the inflation of travel for those who are employees and struggling with the rising cost of commuting to and from work
