Closed Publish a Statement of Compatibility for the Rwandan Asylum Plan

We are calling on the Government to publish a Statement of Compatibitly for its Rwandan asylum plan, in regards to the Human Rights Act 1998 and the European Convention on Human Rights.

A Statement of Compatibility is normally reserved for primary legislation however this proposed policy is a dramatic departure from the previous policy; we feel that it is needed.

A compatibility statement would declare if the plans are compatible with Human Rights legislation, including prohibition of torture, and if not, whether the Government wishes to proceed with the policy.
