Rejected petition Bring the official retirement age down to 60 for both men and women.

Parliament must Increase State Pensions to £400 a week per pensioner, and fund free adult social care for all, so nobody will have to sell their hard worked for home to fund their own Residential care.

More details

National insurance is expected to raise £147 billion for the Treasury in the 2021-22 tax year, compared with £198 billion from income tax and £128 billion from VAT. We want the Government to increase the basic and new state pension to £400 a week plus free adult Social Care for all.
This is what we pay National Insurance contributions for when we are working!

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

Your petition contains several requests, some of which are not related to the title of your petition.

You could start new petitions explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, you could start a new petition calling for the Government to make specific changes to the current adult social care system and a new petition calling for a specific increase to the state pension.
