We’re waiting for a new Petitions Committee

Petitions had to stop because of the recent general election. Once a new Petitions Committee is set up by the House of Commons, petitions will start again.

Closed petition Urge China to ban the Yulin dog meat festival

We want the British government to put pressure on the Chinese government to ban the Yulin dog meat festival due to take place in June. It is cruel and barbaric. It lets the whole of China down.

More details

The festival began in 2009 and spans about ten days between June 19-30th during which it is estimated that 10,000 – 15,000 dogs are tortured and then consumed. It is not necessary. The suffering and abuse these poor sentient creatures go through is an abomination. We need to pressure the Chinese government to outlaw it, and ban it from ever taking place again!
