We’re waiting for a new Petitions Committee

Petitions had to stop because of the recent general election. Once a new Petitions Committee is set up by the House of Commons, petitions will start again.

Closed petition Review quality of hospital care for disabled people

I believe many hospitals do not provide an adequate standard of care for disabled people, especially those with hidden disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders.

More details

The Government should conduct a review, to look at hospital care for disabled patients, and see how this could be improved.

Options for improving the experience of disabled patients include specialised training for staff, so they are better able to understand and meet the needs of disabled patients.

Not everybody can care for themselves and may not be lucky enough to have someone who can help them access the care and treatment they need. This must be addressed as too many disabled people are not getting the care they need.
