The current national anthem is outdated and irrelevant to most UK citizens.
Most people under 30 don't even know the words.
The idea that we should "send her victorious" harks back to a time of conquering other nations and an empire, land and resources that were stolen, something many Uk citizens are ashamed of.
We do not want someone "to reign over us", we want and need democracy, transparency and self sovereignty.
We need a national anthem that offers vision and hope for a better and more peaceful world.

This isn’t something that the UK Government or Parliament would be able to do. The use of the present National Anthem is a matter of tradition rather than having any legal or constitutional status.
