Closed petition Make all noise nuisances between 23:00 and 07:00 a criminal offence

Noise nuisances are mostly handled by local councils and can have very long resolution times. We need the police to be empowered to deal with all noise nuisances as they occur, rather than local authorities taking action once the anti-social behaviour has already caused distress.

Excessive noise pollution can mean children struggle to get a good night’s sleep, hardworking people’s lives are made more stressful, and is proven to cause physical and mental health issues.

We want all forms of noise pollution, such as music and parties, between the hours of 23:00 and 07:00 to be made a criminal offence, so action can be taken by the police.
