Rejected petition Make it a legal duty for mothers to give receipts that CSA is spent on the child

It should be a legal requirement for mothers to provide receipts proving the payments are actually going towards the child at hand, CSA is paid to maintain the child but mothers don’t always use this money for that and that should be made illegal and evidence should be provided they are doing this

More details

Why not? We live in world of equality but when fathers are concerned it’s extremely one sided, mothers should be legally required to provide evidence that they are in fact using our CSA payments towards the child and not for personal purposes just as fathers are legally required to provide evidence of earnings to evaluate what we should be paying

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Child maintenance payments are calculated by the Child Maintenance Service, or set by the courts, but it is not a legal requirement for these payments to be spent on the child they are paid in respect of.

If you want child maintenance payments to be based on actual costs of raising a child, supported by evidence, we could accept a petition calling for this.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
