Rejected petition Regulate the social media industry

I am requesting that the government step in and regulate the social media industry. Identity verification should be mandated as part of the account opening process.

This will drive accountability of users and go some way in reducing the amount of fake profiles. These fake profiles are responsible for numerous crimes against children and adults throughout society. It will drive a reduction in grooming, fraud, racism, homophobia, romance fraud etc
