Closed petition Scrap smart motorways and invest savings in the NHS instead

I want the government to stop the implementation of Smart motorways immediately as I think it's a total waste of money. The money saved should be put into the NHS where it is seriously needed.

It's surely a more worthy cause that the nation will gain from and be put to better use.

Smart motorways cost too much, and there are concerns they are a danger to life. They are not something that is a needed requirement to improve the lives of the nation.

The NHS is what everyone will benefit from, including the hard working staff that struggle with the demands on them and the money would be better used for reducing waiting times, recruiting/training much needed staff, more paramedics/ambulances, improving support services and overall care and saving of lives.
