Rejected petition secondary children should be allowed to were nonuniform to school

I want the government to allow secondary students to wear non- uniform to school

More details

Because children should be allowed to actually want to come to school and I believe that them wearing non uniform would do that exact thing.
The argument is usually that parents and lower class family’s can’t afford to buy clothes and the children in those family’s will get made fun of because of that. But making the parents spend around £200 on school uniform is even worst.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

While the Government encourages schools to have a uniform policy, the content of that policy is left up to schools themselves. There is no law or Government guidance which prevents schools allowing students to wear clothes other than those set out in their uniform policy.
