Rejected petition Increase the Bill of Rights Bill majority

Rejected on

The new Bill of Rights Bill should require a majority vote of 2/3 instead of just a simple majority of one as required with other laws.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We understand that you are concerned about the Bill of Rights Bill becoming law, but all bills go through the same legislative process, and there are no provisions in UK law for legislation to require a 'supermajority'.
