Rejected petition Favour the original LGBT flag and discourage the 2018 activist 'flag updates'
Please will the government recognise that the 'updates' on the original LGBT Pride flag, from the year 2018 plus, involve divisive activist politics and discourage its use, in favour of the original LGBT flag
More details
In June 2022, some London streets were decorated with new variants of the Pride LGBT rainbow flag.
The LGBT flag that helped achieve equality milestones has 6 stripes. Nobody has been excluded from the original flag.
The new 'pride' flags that have developed since 2018 are influenced by new activist views wanting people to say 'women can produce semen', change language used for a millennia & want to enforce a new belief system. Governments must not allow buildings & streets to use these flags.

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for. Decisions about the design of flags are a matter for individuals and groups using flags, not the UK Government or Parliament.
The Government is responsible for legislation governing whether individuals or organisations need the consent of the local planning authority to fly a flag.
The Rainbow flag (six horizontal equal stripes of red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet) may be flown without the need for permission from the local planning authority, subject to certain restrictions regarding the size of the flag, the size of characters on the flag, and the number and location of the flags: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/flying-flags-a-plain-english-guide/flying-flags-a-plain-english-guide
Any flag not identified in the above guide requires express consent from the local planning authority before it can be flown.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
