Closed petition Revert legislation governing firearms to the Firearms Act 1937

I want the Government to repeal the Firearms Act 1968, and subsequent firearms legislation, and revert the legal framework governing firearms to the Firearms Act 1937.

More details

I believe the laws governing firearms passed since 1937, which prohibit the sale and ownership of most firearms to most individuals, are unnecessarily strict, and I believe that the British public can be trusted.
