Closed petition Make Alternative Dispute Resolution mandatory for the Motor Industry
Closed on
Expedite the adoption of ADR membership by requiring all motor traders to enter into to ADR when a customer requests this.
Well established schemes such as the Motoring Ombudsman are affordable and there is absolutely no reason why ADR should not be mandatory.
Relying on the good will of a car dealership or garage can mean consumers are not treated fairly, and can be left with a choice between accepting poor service, or taking legal action. ADR should be mandatory to help prevent businesses in the motoring industry being able to get away with treating customers unfairly.
The Government has said that it wants to encourage the development of ADR. We believe now is the time to make it mandatory for the motoring industry.
