Closed Stop local councils charging both parents to take their children on holiday

Presently both parents are charged when children are taken on holiday in term time. This is unfair, even more unfair if parents are not together and the parent not on the family holiday has to pay fine!

The upset this causes between already toxic and frayed estranged relationships is unreal not to mention the stress it unduly causes the children when again there’s another unnecessary drama. Parents should be able to appeal to the council to explain their situation and the fine should be applied only to the parent taking the child away.
