Closed petition Make the school national curriculum more culturally diverse
Closed on
In school we must learn a basic understanding of different cultures and their history. Our lack of knowledge and our ignorance to grasp the concepts of racism and diversity have been reflected onto the real world because these issues are not taught at a young age.
Ignoring the basic accomplishments and failures of history will not make people in the world more aware of their pasts. Whilst there have been subtle changes to school curriculum modules this has taken far too long. Is there not a need to change the program with the moving times? Although grassroots groups have been established to offer schemes, the Government has made little input to support more inclusive curriculums. The programmes have been developed by teachers, parents and council staff.
We want the Government to implement changes to make the national curriculum more culturally diverse across all subjects. This should include new topics for history, new authors for English literature, and more of a focus on race and culture in relationships education.
