Closed Allow employers to give staff non-taxable £1000 cost of living payment

The Government should allow companies to pay staff a non-taxable cost of living allowance of £1,000 each, over and above their usual salary. This should be free of all tax, Employers National Insurance and Class 1 National Insurance.

This would cost the Government nothing and allows employers who can help to assist their staff in bearing the brunt of the cost of living crisis.
